MIE2027 delegates and accompanying persons are supported by the City of Tallinn and will receive FREE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION PASSES for the period 23 April–2 May 2027.
To help participants make the most of their visit, the local organisers have also negotiated special rates with a selection of hotels for the same period, making it easy to extend your stay and further explore Tallinn and Estonia.
Tallinn, the capital city of Estonia, is an ideal destination if you are looking for a combination of modern comforts, a thriving culinary scene and a vibrant cultural landscape in a truly unique, historical setting: the renowned Old Town is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Every neighbourhood in Tallinn has its own personality and allure, from the medieval Old Town to imperial Kadriorg, bohemian Kalamaja and the sleek and trendy city centre. This fascinating mix of the old and traditional with the new and high-tech further adds to the appeal of Tallinn as a location for major international events. Pure sea air and easy access to nature exist side by side with cutting edge technological solutions and versatile event venues.
The city is very compact and can be easily explored on foot or by public transport. The main transport hubs are also centrally located and well-connected: the airport is only four kilometres from the city centre and just ten minutes away from the downtown hotels. The ferry terminals and train station are also located only a short walk away from the medieval Old Town.

Tallinn can be reached by plane, ferry, bus, or car. Up-to-date information is available from the Visit Tallinn portal. In 2027 there will be a direct tram line connecting the airport, central bus station and the passenger port.
Kultuurikatel (Tallinn Creative HUB) the MIE2027 conference venue is well-located, short walking distance from the direct tram line.
By plane
The city's international airport, Lennart Meri Tallinn Airport, provides excellent facilities and a wide variety of services. In 2025, the cosy Tallinn Airport was awarded the title of the most enjoyable airport in Europe, as well as the title of the best airport in Europe in its size category by the Airports Council International (ACI) World.
The airport is conveniently located – 4 kilometres (2.5 miles) from the city centre. In 2027 there will be a direct tram connection to the MIE2027 and the suggested hotels.
By ferry
Tallinn has regular ferry connections with nearby Baltic Sea destinations, especially Helsinki (several times a day, travel time starting from 2 hours) and Stockholm (overnight travel).
The passenger port is close to the city centre. The MIE2027 venue is located ca 1 km from the main passenger terminals.
By bus or car
Tallinn can also be reached by international bus routes and by car through the regional road network. Please check the Tallinn Central Bus Station.
Tallinn is a compact city, and many central areas are easy to explore on foot.
Public transport includes trams and buses. Taxis and ride-hailing services are also widely available.
The MIE 2027 delegates and accompanying persons are supported by the City of Tallinn and will receive a free Tallinn public transportation pass.
Visitors who plan to explore museums and attractions may consider the Tallinn Card, which includes public transport and access to many attractions.
